Craftsman and Sears are two names you can trust, as they have been producing reliable products for many years. This Craftsman lawnmower is proof that there are still good products to be bought, and it does a great job in taking care of the yard. The amazing thing is it only costs $299.00, and it is worth so much more. (Sometimes its on sale for $279.00)
This lawnmowers 7 horsepower engine rocks, and makes cutting the grass a breeze! Startup is a cinch, as you pull on the cord and expect it to start. I've always been able to start it on the first pull, as the engine always hungrily cranks up. (Use the primer bulb first!) It really is loud, and it makes me proud to mow the lawn! Overall handling is excellent, even though the mower is a bit on the heavy side.(94 lbs) Its wheels turn effortlessly, and are ridged to get good grip on the ground. What makes it easy is the single speed wheel gear drive, which is applied with the flick of a switch. The dust blocker bag works well, and fills up quickly due to the mowers efficiency. It works well, and blocks out a lot more dust than other models. If you prefer to mulch, its an option. I haven't tried it yet, as I prefer my grass to go into the bag.
The fuel tank has a 1.6 quart fuel capacity, and it should work without refilling twice.(I have a .30 acre lot) It is California compliant, because it is so efficient and has less pollution than other models. A neat feature of this mower is a folding handle, which is great if you have a smaller storage shed! I really like this option, and everything is easy, as was the initial setup.(EZ tool only!)
Sears has a great deal for this mower. It comes with a 2 year limited warranty, but for $69.99 you can get a protection plan. This entitles you to a 3 year warranty, with free in house servicing at your local Sears. Its a great option, and they have helped me exchange a dulled blade on a previous mower. (Very courteous and professional staff) More information about this plan can be found at Sears.com, or at 1-800-767-2000. I really like this mower, as it is a reliable and practical machine. The red paint is still glimmering after heavy use, and it is in top shape. Of course, having a 7 horsepower Briggs and Stratton engine helps!
